NEPTUNE
Deep Sea Camera System

The NEPTUNE system provides subsea video and still photos to 6000 M depth. It is designed for slow scan television viewing, synchronized with mono and stereo photography. The system consists of shipboard and underwater units coupled with a tow cable.

Subsea System

The underwater components are enclosed in pressure housings and mounted on a corrosion-protected steel platform. The tow body contains:

  • Power pack

  • 2 photo cameras

  • Video camera

  • Echo sounder, down and forward looking

  • Lighting (flash)

  • Power adapter

Surface System

The shipboard control console, fitted with monitor and video-recorder, includes all necessary
controls, power supplies and electronics. The monitor displays subsea video, echo sounder data
and operator instructions.
